What's going on in town this week...

Town Government Meetings/Deadlines:
     Wednesday, Sept. 3rd - Zoning Board Submission Deadline
     Saturday, Sept. 6th - Final District Budget Meeting
          (9:00 am at Town Hall)



Highway Department Work / Road Closures:
     None reported



Environmental Hazards / Closures:
     All three Lake Peekskill Beaches are closed due to hazardous algae levels. No one should swim in, bathe in, or drink the water from Lake Peekskill until further notice. Fish caught in Lake Peekskill at this time should not be eaten.


Putnam Valley Free Library:
     Please observe posted signs as the entrance/exit and parking will change during construction. The Library porch will be closed during construction. You can continue to pick up library materials that you have requested online as well as return items in the community room. 

 
District News:
     Lake Peekskill: Bulk Garbage Pickup
          
Route 1 – put it out by the week of September 15th.
          Route 2 – put it out by the week of September 22nd.

Reform Temple of Putnam Valley:
     Friday, Sept. 5th - Shabbat Services
           (8:00 pm at Reform Temple on Church St.)
      Saturday, Sept. 6th - Hebrew School begins



St. Ambrose of Milan Orthodox Church
     Comes out of the Russian Orthodox tradition but worships using the old Western (Roman) Rite as it existed between the 5th - 9th centuries.

     Sundays at 10:00 am - Liturgy (Mass) followed by breakfast!
          Services held at the Putnam Valley Grange, 2nd Floor

Putnam Valley Historical Society:
     Dedicated Volunteers are needed! Transcribers of historical documents, docents at the museum, and new members for the Society's Board of Directors are all needed. For more info, call (845) 528-1024 or e-mail pvhistoricalsociety@verizon.net.
